Corresonding sides must have an equal ratio in order to be considered similar. The height of the table was 18 inches on both sides. The width (top and bottem) was 27 inches. The middle width of the table was 12 inches. If we divide the original measurements by the new ones we should come to a similar ratio as seen below.
